Too hot to go on a hike? You can still enjoy views of the Scenic City from the air-conditioned comfort of your car.

With the weather warming up, it’s the perfect time to roll the windows down and go for a drive. Here’s five of Chattanooga’s best scenic drives for you to soak up the sun.

🚗 Reservoir Loop on Raccoon Mountain

At the top of Raccoon Mountain you can drive the ~4.6 mile loop to see amazing views of the mountains + reservoir which serves as TVA’s largest hydroelectric facility.

🚗 Taft Highway Lookout

This perfect overlook spot is located up the curvy roads on the west side of Signal Mountain ~30 minutes outside of downtown Chattanooga. We recommend taking this drive during sunrise or sunset as you get some of the best views from this point + continuing down the highway into the beautiful valley below.

Bonus: City Editor Brianna got engaged at this spot, shoutout to her fiancé Chris for picking the perfect scenic drive to pop the big question.

🚗 East Brow on Signal Mountain

This drive was suggested by one of our readers.

I love the drive on East Brow on Signal Mountain. There are beautiful views of the valley as well as very nice older and newer homes. It’s not a long drive but a beautiful one.Jim W.

🚗 Lookout Mountain Parkway

Spanning ~93 miles across Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama, you can find waterfalls, mountains, valleys, state parks + more scenic views along this drive.

With gorgeous views year-round, this drive has been named one of the most scenic drives in America by Reader’s Digest.

🚗 Cherohala Skyway

Looking to take a longer drive? Here’s another suggestion from one of our readers.

My favorite drive is a little outside of Chattanooga, but so worth the trip. The Cherohala Skyway is an absolutely beautiful drive with lots of areas to stop for scenic views and photos.” Kristi B.
