Did you know that May is National Bike Month?

To celebrate, Outdoor Chattanooga — a division of the city’s parks + outdoors department — invites the public to participate in a series of bike-related programs all month long.

The programs aim to highlight the benefits of biking, encourage folks to try biking, and raise awareness about bike safety.

Here’s a little of what you can expect during the month:

  • Thursday, May 11 | Intro to Mountain Biking class | $10 | Learn the basics of mountain biking in a controlled environment — includes all gear.
  • Friday, May 12 | Mountain to Town Class | $25 | Ride a shuttle to the top of Lookout Mountain + enjoy a leisurely ride frown the Guild Trail and Tennessee River Park — includes all gear.
  • Friday, May 19 | National Bike to Work Day | Free+ | Join a city-wide community activation initiative to bike to work, support stations will be set up throughout town (locations TBA).
