Timberroot Rustic Retreats is a lodging management firm that provides brand and management services to rustic resorts in some of our nation’s most scenic destinations. Our company is tailored to specifically service vacation rental facilities that surround natural attractions like National Parks & National Forests. Timberroot grew out of the only rustic resort in the Chattanooga area called Wauhatchie Woodlands, which is made up of 31 tiny log cabins within the high-reaching woods of Lookout Mountain. Wauhatchie Woodlands was built from the ground up with the sole purpose of providing its guests with unique getaways and outdoor immersive experiences. The rapid growth of Wauhatchie Woodlands forced the development of automated processes, tech-enabled workflows, and novel marketing in order to support a self-administered approach to the vacation rental business.

Timberroot believes in providing travelers with feature-filled experiences within natural environments. Our lodgings are equipped with all the comforts of home, like streaming televisions and stocked kitchens, while also including a wealth of outdoor living amenities like hot tubs and outdoor furniture. Our expansion plans for the next 5 years are robust and we need an experienced marketer who can contextualize our vision through imagery, word, promotion, and story. Timberroot is a young firm that has grown quickly and is committed to continually expanding the markets it operates in. We are looking for a trusted individual to join the family as Director of Business Promotions and take part in the growth of Timberroot Rustic Retreats.

Immediate Responsibilities

The Director of Business Promotions will be responsible for Timberroot’s branding and promotional efforts and will be relied upon to be the authoritative voice on all matters related to marketing. The Director of Business Promotions (“Director of BP”) will oversee a variety of key initiatives including the development and continual enhancement of a robust website & email newsletter, research & adoption of new technological systems and processes to improve automation, data-driven analysis of consumer & industry trends, creation of new revenue streams like loyalty programs and branded merchandise, and management of a dedicated marketing team including a graphic designer/marketing administrator. These strategic initiatives will diverge into a multitude of tasks. The Director of BP will oversee that tasks like manual price adjustments, data entry, graphic design, distribution, and social media coordination are all delegated internally, while identifying and collaborating with the best 3rd party companies to work with on web development & in-depth marketing analytics. The Director of BP will confidently oversee that all these initiatives progress in a direction that is in line with their strategic direction and the vision of Timberroot holistically.

Since the initiatives that the Director of Business Promotions will vary in complexity and require the support of many across the team, effective leadership and communication will be crucial to the Director of BP’s success. The executive team will provide the impetus for all of the Director of BP’s objectives, but the efforts will ultimately require effort and commitment from team members across the organization, from housekeepers to guest service representatives. As is typical with most marketing positions, this role will touch most all aspects of Timberroot’s business – from pricing to acquisition. The work of the Director of BP will have firsthand impact on customers’ daily experiences, as well as long-term growth opportunities. As expansion opportunities materialize, the Director of BP will fine tune the firm’s efforts by implementing location specific marketing while working with the executive team to develop data-driven RFPs, win new business, and absorb properties with full calendars. The individual who fills the position will have a huge role to play in launching Timberroot Rustic Retreats into its growth phase, and will thereby gain professional development, work experience, and increased earnings.

Annual Bonus calculated as percentage of revenue growth year over per property
Expanded earnings through incentive pay tied to expansion of our firm

Advancement within Timberroot is largely self-guided so higher earnings can be achieved quickly if one demonstrates enough tenacity and a willingness to learn. You will meet with your supervisor(s) on a quarterly basis to review your achievements, evaluate quality of work and job knowledge, assess challenges and opportunities for growth, and set measurable goals. These meetings will contextualize your professional growth, earnings potential, and direction within the organization.

Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, communications, business, or related field

3-5 years experience in multi-brand experience
