All the world’s a stage porch

Introducing Highland Park Porchfest

A telephone pole on the sidewalk with a sign on it reading "Highland Park Porchfest."
The porchfest is “where porches become stages, yards become seats + radical generosity and goodwill rule the day.” | Photo by @highlandparkporchfest
Ever wonder what it would be like if porches became stages? You can find out at the Highland Park Porchfest on Sat., Oct. 8.

Highland Park Porchfest is a grassroots, community-led festival featuring 14 bands playing on six porches in the neighborhood — the full schedule and map can be found here. Admission is free and open to all for this day of fun.

Another neat aspect of the festival? Local muralist Nathan Brown will turn a large wall at the corner of Highland Park Avenue and Main Street into a beautiful mural starting on Mon., Oct. 3.
THE WRAP
Today’s issue was written by Kristen.
