Small Business Saturday is on Nov. 26. What started as an American Express campaign in 2010 to inspire consumers to shop locally has become an annual holiday that’s celebrated nationally.

All City of Chattanooga offices will be closed today, Thursday, Nov. 24 + tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 25, for Thanksgiving. The collection of residential solid waste and recycling scheduled for Thursday will occuron Saturday, Nov. 26. Friday’s collection will occur as regularly scheduled.

Rose & Remington — a women’s lifestyle store offering affordable “boho-chic” clothing, accessories, home decor, and more — recently opened in Hamilton Place Mall. Just in time for Black Friday, the store will offer 25% off store-wide on Friday, Nov. 25. 🛍️
Sports
The 25th annual Choo Choo Bowl — a youth football tournament — will take place this weekend in the Scenic City. The tournament for children ages 5-12 will feature teams from Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, and various parts of Tennessee. 🏈 (The Pulse)
Cause
The Salvation Army’s Chattanooga Area Command will prepare and distribute 100+ meals to those in need this Thanksgiving. The meals will go to individuals residing in public housing, senior adults in need, and others in the Chattanooga area.
Noogan
Mayor Tim Kelly proclaimed Nov. 23 Greg Funderberg, Jr. Day in honor of Greg’s final day working at NewsChannel 9. We can’t wait to see what you do next, Greg.
Plan Ahead
Camp Caverns, a residential summer camp at The Caverns in Grundy County, will return in the summer of 2023. Registration is now open for kids 8-14 for two sessions, July 9-15 + July 16-22. Parents can use the code “CAMP4XMAS” to receive 10% off full camp rates (offer valid through Monday, Nov. 28).
