You may begin to notice some new, bright pink billboards around town — and they’ve got an important message for Chattanoogans.
The billboards are part of a local, multi-faceted antisemitism awareness campaign launched by the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga in partnership with JewBelong to foster awareness and discussion about antisemitism across the community.
Chattanooga is the smallest city to partner with JewBelong in this new campaign that includes:
Nine pink billboards posted throughout the city with messages about antisemitism and security. The billboards will be posted for eight weeks beginning this week.
Thousands of postcards sent via mail to community members.
Special candles that will be distributed to “shine a light” on antisemitism.
Work with local officials to support the campaign and local media outlets for additional coverage.
Starting in January, you can also check out the Americans and the Holocaust exhibit coming to the Chattanooga Public library.
"Even if it doesn’t affect you, [antisemitism] affects the community, your neighbors, your friends, and your family.” — Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga Executive Director, Michael Dzik

What’s better than a good book? A good book written by your neighbor (or former neighbor). Here’s a handful of ones we love. Bonus: these bad boys will make for a great holiday gift.
Editor’s pick: My husband and I recently drove through The Canyons neighborhood in Hixson to check out their lights display, and I think it tops my personal list of “best lights” in Chattanooga. The neighborhood has a full Whoville display with Mount Crumpit, a huge inflatable Grinch, and even a “stink stank stunk” sign on a porta potty. I highly recommend checking it out.
