A Little Mysteries update

Little Mysteries: the hidden mural, pt. 2

A green, blue, and yellow mural partly hidden behind a parking garage.
We’re still on the hunt for more information. | Photo by NOOGAtoday
In case you missed it, a few weeks ago we shared The Case of the Hidden Mural: a mystery we hope to solve with your help.

(We recommend going back to read the full case before continuing, if you haven’t already).

We received one particularly interesting clue that sheds more light on the mural:

The parking garage was constructed utilizing a federal grant obtained by the City of Chattanooga on behalf of the County (sorta unusual). I believe that it was funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission and the Development District was involved. I vaguely remember the mural and lamented at the time that it would be covered...” — Ron L.

After sifting through old newspapers, the library’s online database, and asking the library’s history staff, we still couldn’t come up with anything more. Keep letting us know if you have more information.

In the meantime, we’ve submitted a few open records requests to learn more about the parking garage in particular.
THE WRAP

Today’s issue was written by Brianna.

Editor’s pick: Happy Valentine’s Day, all. As it turns out, our company is pretty divided on loving or hating the holiday (thanks to our manager, Josh, for starting some chaos by asking). I think I fall somewhere in between, but I do love an excuse for a fun dinner out on the town. Last night, my husband and I celebrated early and ate at Two Ten Jack.
