Announced ○ Applications for a team-based mentoring program are open. Protégé Chattanooga is a nine-month program in which early to mid-career professionals learn from seasoned local executives. Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 40 and will be accepted through April 1.
NowOpen ○ A new indoor playground, called Everlasting Play, recently opened in Ringgold, GA. The playground is specialized for children ages 3 months to 6 years old + offers birthday parties, bundle passes, memberships + daily play passes.
Development ○ A developer is proposing a $15 million project in Chattanooga’s North Shore to add new apartments, offices, and possible retail space. If approved, the new development would go in at the former Chattanooga Printing and Engraving Building (110 Somerville Ave.). 🏢(Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Job ○ Remember Dayton’s Nokian Tyre Factory that was just named one of the most eco-friendly in the world? Now, the company needs to hire 80 workers. Remaining positions include maintenance specialists, production operators, and other roles overseeing + executing tire production.
FeelGood ○ The Alice Fund started in 2008 as a donation jar on the front desk in the Cat Clinic of Chattanooga. In 2014, they officially became a nonprofit organization with a goal to help cat owners in need of medical care and supplies. And last year was the nonprofit’s biggest year yet with over $24,000 in donations. 🐱 ○ During an appearance on “TODAY with Hoda and Jenna,” local nonprofit the MOMentum Network found out Amazon donated $10,000 to its cause to empower single moms + their kids. 👏
TryThis ○ You have the chance to rent a kid-friendly vacation home for only $20. Vrbo + Netflix are giving families nationwide the chance to book inexpensive stays, based on Netflix’s new film “Yes Day.” One of the locations is in our area — the Canopy Blue Luxury Treehouse. Bookings will open on March 19.
Volunteer ○ Starting on March 18, Blood Assurance is hosting “donor madness” to highlight the need for blood + celebrate Blood Assurance donors by giving them prizes, like Starbucks and Top Golf gift cards. Blood Assurance hopes to collect 6,500 units of blood, platelets, and plasma during the event that lasts through April 5.
