City Council recently voted to approve an ordinance allowing homeowners who live on single-family lots to build accessory dwelling units. Units must be permanent structures limited to 700 sqft + only one accessory dwelling unit will be permitted. A final vote will take place next week. 🏠 (The Pulse)

The Scenic City is one of three regions with the largest growth in entry-level hiring between 2020 and 2021. The Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics LLC is building a new outpatient ambulatory surgery facility in Tyner to replace its existing surgery suites downtown. East Hamilton High School senior Jeremiah Flemmons recently became the school’s first-ever state champion — in any sport. Flemmons took home titles in the TSSAA Class AA triple jump, high jump, and 110-meter hurdles.
