Well, Chattanooga, it’s almost time to party our way into 2019 and shake off all the bad vibes of 2018. Can you believe it? 🥂

We know New Year’s Eve is a night that a lot of you look forward to. I mean, how could you not with all the promises of champagne 🥂, glitter-laden party hats ✨, and the relief from knowing another long year has come to an end. 😌

In that spirit, we’ve compiled a list of the best parties happening throughout the city. We’ve also indicated what type of person might enjoy each party—because choosing the right location for your celebration and lifestyle is essential to kick the new year off with a bang.

There’s everything from 1920s-themed flings to all-night roller-skating. 🍾

If you’re looking to feel classy...

New Year’s Eve at Read House | 8 p.m.–1 a.m. | The Read House Hotel | 107 W M.L. King Blvd. | $70 | The Read House is “putting on the Ritz” this year with a roaring ‘20s-themed New Year’s Eve party. Partying here entails a full 10-piece band, Gwen Hughes and the Continental Dance Orchestra, a champagne toast at midnight, heavy hors-d’oeuvres, action stations, a coffee and dessert bar.

Party on the Bluff | 9 p.m.– 1 a.m. | The Hunter Museum of American Art | 10 Bluff View | $175–$2,500 | If you’re really looking to ring in the new year in style, this is probably your best bet. The standard admission ticket includes access to the full open bar, heavy hors-d’oeuvres from Events with Taste, music from a live DJ, and a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight.

If you’re looking for a real party...

Moxynooga Eve | All night, really | The Moxy Hotel | 1220 King St. | $375–$525 | The Moxy Hotel is offering guests who spend the night at their hotel a special package which includes valet parking, an open bar, a live DJ, party favors, “Moxy Games,” a midnight champagne toast, a Moxy Balls drop, a midnight Waffle House food truck, and a 2 p.m. checkout time for those who need some time to work off that champagne headache. 😉

GLAM 80’s Wonderland | 7:30 p.m.–1 a.m. | The Dwell Hotel | 120 E. 10th St. | $60 early bird ticket, $75 regular ticket | If you like decade-themed parties, but the ‘20s isn’t your thing, you may want to try out this ‘80s-themed dance party at the Dwell Hotel. At this party, The Audiovore will be spinning original vinyl with your favorite 80s artists, unlimited sparkling wine, hors-d’oeuvres, valet, photo booths, multiple cash bars with cocktail specials.

New Year’s Eve Bash at Southside Social | 6 p.m.–2 a.m. | Southside Social | 1818 Chestnut St. | $10 | This is a more affordable option for Chattanoogans looking to get down for New Year’s. This party includes party favors, hats, beads, a champagne toast at midnight and music from DJ Tony Dub.

New Year’s Eve Party at The Big Chill | 6 p.m.–3 a.m. | The Big Chill and Grill | 103 Cherokee Blvd. | $20–$140 | The Big Chill is offering up the opportunity for partygoers to go ahead and reserve tables and bar seats for their party. Tables range in prices and all seats include free party favors, a champagne toast at midnight, and a live DJ.

If you’re looking to get funky...

Two Show Bash at Songbirds | 7 p.m.–1 a.m. | Songbirds | 35 Station St. | $50 | With this ticket, attendees will get access to a show with Paul Childers at the North Stage at 7 p.m. and the Velcro Pygmies show at 9 p.m. at the South Stage.

Here Come the Mummies at The Signal | 8:30 p.m. | The Signal | 1810 Chestnut St. | $45-$90 | Another live band option for music enthusiast partygoers featuring an “eight-piece funk rock band made up of 5000-year-old mummies.” Who else can say they spent New Year’s Eve partying with mummies? 🎸

If you’re looking for something a little different...

NYE Late Night Skate | 7 p.m.–1 a.m. | Hamilton Skate Place | 7414 Goodwin Road | $15 | If you want to start the year off in rollerblades, now is your chance. Hamilton Skate Place will be offering its skaters free pizza and drinks until 9 p.m. The Hamilton Skate Place will also have a Kids’ New Year’s countdown running from noon to 4 p.m.
