Developers with The Clemons Lofts in Chattanooga’s City Center are asking photographers to add their mark to the building through a photo contest.
Through Oct. 30, amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to submit photographs to The Clemons Lofts on Facebook. The photos should be sent using Facebook Messenger with the hashtag #MakeYourMark.
As a theme, all photos should feature examples of the “building blocks” of Chattanooga, however that may be interpreted by the photographer. Suggested focal points include the Tennessee Aquarium, Lookout Mountain, Signal Mountain, Market Street Bridge, Chattanooga Choo-Choo, Incline Railway and Tivoli Theatre.
The chosen photographs will be displayed in black and white or sepia tones, and the winners will be offered a $100 gift card during a VIP reception. Winners will also receive a transferable coupon for 50 percent off one month’s rent at The Clemons Lofts.
All photos must be high-resolution, as many of them will be increased in size and displayed as elevator wraps.
Only five winners will be chosen. Those winners will be announced Nov. 2.
By participating, winners allow property owners ViaNova Development to use the images inside the building and for any future marketing efforts.
Built in the early 1920s, the Clemons Building was the former home of Clemons Bros. Furniture. Developers have converted the building into 55 apartment homes while maintaining the historical aspects of the property.
