Ever wanted to roam a children’s museum without kids in the way?
Well, I have. Editor Brianna here, and while I appreciate the fact that children’s museums are, well, for children, I’ve long wished for the chance to explore the museum as an adult without feeling guilty for taking up kids’ space.
Enter: Drink and Discover, an event hosted by the Creative Discovery Museum that closes the building to children for the night and allows adults 21+ to roam its exhibits — all with a drink in hand.
Do you remember that scene in “The Santa Clause 2" when Scott Calvin gifts toys to all of the adults at the school’s faculty Christmas party? Drink & Discover is a lot like that — a bunch of adults getting the chance to play like kids again.
The best part was exploring, but if you need something planned to be entertained, the museum’s got it covered. This particular night was Halloween themed and included ghost stories, “potion” making, a broom race, and a costume contest, plus a candle-making activity for an extra fee.
My favorite parts of the evening:
Climbing through the playground area
Checking out the view from the very top of the museum at night
Making mini stop motion movies in the arts section
While the museum’s next Drink and Discover event won’t take place until April, you can still check out some of these upcoming museum happenings:
