Time’s ticking, folks, and we realized we need to start planning our New Year’s Eve. Lucky for us, Chattanooga has plenty of parties and events happening around town to fit the vibe of everyone’s celebration wants + needs.
From family-friendly events taking place earlier in the day to parties that go on until the sun rises, here’s a look at some of the ways to kiss 2022 goodbye and welcome 2023 with open arms. It’s best to plan now, especially as some of these events sell out fast.

Mayor Tim Kelly + Chattanooga City Council reached a deal on the proposed tow rate increase. The passed agreement includes a daytime tow rate of $225 and a night/weekend rate of $250, with a provision to update rates annually according to inflation. 🛻 (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Development
After undergoing a $2.9 million upgrade, one of East Ridge’s oldest motels at 6674 Ringgold Rd. now has a new name and look. Now called the Baymont by Wyndham motel, the 85-room inn hopes to draw more guests and generate more revenue with the changes. 🏨 (Chattanooga Times Free Press)

Starting in January, a new kind of comedy show is coming to Barley Chattanooga — Stand-Up Science. The show will be hosted by scientist and comedian Ben Miller, who uses stories on topics ranging from his musculoskeletal condition to his childhood history with milk. (The Pulse)

The Union Gospel Mission will host its annual free community Christmas dinner this Friday, Dec. 23 at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Donate or sign up to volunteer at the event here. 🍽️

In our opinion, brunch is always a good idea. Whether it’s an order of Better Border Poutine from The Bitter Alibi or a quick stop at Milk & Honey for a breakfast bagel, the combination of breakfast and lunch is something we hold very close to our hearts.
