Copa de la Diversión began in 2017 with four teams in Charlotte, Durham, Visalia, and Las Vegas. The next year, it expanded to 33 teams and addeda little competition. The 2018 winner? The attendance-record-breaking Mariachis de Nuevo México in Albuquerque.
This year, 90 MiLB teams will compete to be crowned campeón based on ballpark experience, community engagement, and philanthropic impact.

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank will participate in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive — a nationwide effort conducted by the National Association of Letter Carriers — on Saturday, May 13. To donate, leave a bag of non-perishables in your mailbox + local carriers will collect them.
USPS is celebrating National Small Business Week throughout the month of May with its “Grow Your Business Days” events. The events held in various post office lobbies will help provide local businesses with needed materials. (Local 3)

The NCAA Division II Softball National Championship is heading to Chattanooga. Teams will play at Frost Stadium at Warner Park from Thursday, May 25-Wednesday, May 31 + will be hosted by Lee University, the University of North Georgia, and the Chattanooga Sports Commission.

Juneteenth — the celebration of the Emancipation Proclamation being enforced by the Union Army — has been officially signed into law as a holiday in Tennessee. The state will annually recognize the holiday on June 19 going forward. (NewsChannel 9)
