🍦 We all scream for ice cream

Get a taste of Chattanooga as a flavor of ice cream

Recently, we asked you to come up with a unique ice cream flavor that describes Chattanooga and utilizes one to three locally sourced ingredients. After reading all of your responses, it’s safe to say that our mouths are watering. Here were some of our favorites:

A Mad Priest coffee-flavored base with chocolate flakes from The Hot Chocolatier and a whiskey ribbon from Chattanooga Whiskey. Called “Drunk Priest” or “Chattanooga Cocoa.” - Stephanie C.

A lemon gelato with blueberries, blackberries, and lemon basil sugar (or lemon balm or lemon verbena, any of the lemony herbs) from Feathers & Fruit + edible flower confetti from Bird Fork Farm. Called “Summertime Blues.” - Jessie GT.

A marshmallow cream and vanilla ice cream base with crumbled chocolate or banana Moon Pie cookies. Called “Over the Moon Pie Ice Cream.” - Ellen C.

A cruffin cone from Niedlov’s Bakery & Café filled with hot chocolate ice cream using chocolate from The Hot Chocolatier that’s topped with strawberry white chocolate bacon from Bluegrass Grill. Called “The Southside.” - Drew B.

Coffee ice cream topped with caramel or peanut butter and chocolate-covered espresso beans made with beans from New Wave Coffee Roasters and chocolate from Belle Chocolates. Called “Chatty New Girl.” - Jessie GT.

The only thing we need now is a local ice cream shop to make one of these flavors a reality. Clumpies Ice Cream Co., The Ice Cream Show, and Squirrel Rabbit Coffee Bar and Creamerywe’re looking at you.

I loved reading everyone’s Chattanooga ice cream suggestions, especially with it being National Ice Cream Month. Want to keep the celebrations going? Check out Noogarons’ ice cream-inspired flavors this month. I’m eyeing the cookies and cream + chocolate chip cookie dough macarons.
