La Paz Chattanooga recently announced its finalists for its Latino Leadership Awards. The awards span six categories from “Latino Leader of the Year” to “Latino Business of the Year.” A ceremony announcing the winners will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21. Get your tickets. (Chattanoogan.com)

The Chattanooga Red Wolves announced that Head Coach Jimmy Weekley will be on a medical leave of absence for the time being due to a “significant health situation.” The team has brought in the club’s USL League Two Head Coach Scott MacKenzie from Utah to take over while Coach Weekley recovers.
Community
The Jewish Cultural Center (5461 N. Terrace Rd.) will host a My Family Tree Project class on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. This free event is open to all where you will use a phone, tablet, and other personal materials to preserve oral and written familial history.
Arts
ClearStory Arts is slated to host an opening reception for acclaimed artist Benford Stellmacher, Jr. and his exhibition “The Weight of My Faith” on Friday, Sept. 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through Saturday, Sept. 30. RSVP.
