  • Elsie’s Daughter, the second restaurant concept from Chloe Wright and Ryan Smith of The Rosecomb, will open at The Hotel Chalet at The Choo Choo this fall. The spot is described as an “Appalachian bistro with the essence of casual French culinary style.” Stay tuned for more details.
Community
  • In preparation for fall programming, several community centers in Chattanooga will be closed for cleaning and maintenance over the next two weeks. View closure dates.
Arts
  • Local art gallery Area 61 (721 Broad St.) will host a reopening ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with new art on display. The gallery had to temporarily close after a sprinkler system froze + burst in late December, flooding the area.
