Sweater weather is here, Chattanooga. (And winter is on its way.) Here are a few tips to help keep your activity levels high as the temperatures drop lower:
Find movement in your everyday life (like taking the stairs vs. the elevator).
Get excited, outdoors enthusiasts. The River to Clouds Route long-distance trail will be unveiled today (November 6). The trail spans 34 miles, from Rising Fawn, GA to the Chattanooga Riverwalk, and will be a haven for mountain bikers, hikers, and trail runners. (Local 3 News)
480,000. That’s the average number of deaths in the US each year from smoking-related illnesses. In light of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, Erlanger will observe the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout event on November 16 to raise awareness of the hazards of tobaccos + the importance of lung health.
Cause
‘Tis the season for giving. Mark your calendars for Giving Tuesday, coming up on November 28. This global generosity event is your chance to give back through volunteer opportunities, tokens of appreciation + monetary donations. Learn more about how you can support the Chattanooga community.
Seasonal
Speaking of giving, give the gift of holiday cheer to a sick or injured child at the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger this season. The hospital is collecting small, decorated Christmas trees December 7-8 to deliver to kids’ rooms. Learn more about how to decorate and give a tiny tree.
