What does geopsychology say about a city’s personality?
If Chattanooga were a person, they’d be the life of the party. | Photo by J. Adams via Chattanooga Tourism Co.
What is your average Chattanoogan like? Are they extroverted or introverted? Agreeable or grumpy? Conscientious or free-spirited? Emotionally stable or neurotic?
Your answers may vary, but geopsychology may be able to track certain personality traits across different regions. Consider Big Think’s personality map of the US. You may be surprised by what it says about Chattanooga.
Conscientiousness
Here in Chattanooga, we tend to be more conscientious. As an efficient, organized group, it’s no surprise that we have so many thriving and exciting industries.
Agreeableness
According to the map, Chattanooga is full of compassionate, friendly folk, and we can’t help but agree. New to town? As your friendly local newsletter, allow us to present you with our how-to for new residents.
Neuroticism
In Chattanooga, we tend to experience a bit less emotional stability and may be more stressed, nervous, or sensitive. Check out our guide to taking a mental health day in the Scenic City.
Openness
In the Scenic City, we may be a bit more careful when making decisions and perhaps more stubborn. Maybe that’s why we won’t back down when telling people that NOOGAtoday is the best way to learn about our city.
Extroversion
We’re the life of the party here in Chattanooga. As a city of extroverts, we love getting out and about, and we’ve got your back here at NOOGAtoday. Check out our events page for all kinds of things to do around town each week.
