The City of Chattanooga has applied for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing grant. Notably, the $7.5 million grant would address a lack of developable land + the development of smaller, affordable units. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Travel
Today, Oct. 8 is the return of nonstop flights from Chattanooga to New York. While this destination was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can now board a Delta aircraft and fly to the LaGuardia Airport in New York City — Saturday trips are the lowest fares at $549.

Just like the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California you’ve seen in the movies, the annual Chattanooga Motorcar Festival is driving its way over to the Scenic City Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13, bringing world-class cars to the streets of the West Village.
This three-day event is presented by local contractor DeFoor Brothers + is known for its Concours d’Elegance event — where returning Chief Judge Mike Tillson and a panel will judge hundreds of vintage, historic, and classic cars.
DeFoor Brothers’ Director of Asset Management Ember Souchet said they wanted to make the festival more accessible to the community by lowering ticket costs down to $20 per person for the whole weekend.
“This event is bringing cars that go to shows all over the world, this event is bringing celebrities who go to shows all over the world,” Souchet said. “The fact that it’s in Chattanooga is actually really significant.”
Choose your must-have Halloween item, both on sale for Prime Big Deal Days: These party-ready pumpkin + ghost lidded glass cups (now 20% off), or this no-effort skeleton onesie costume (now 38% off).
Over the weekend, I welcomed a new kitten into my life — everyone, meet Bruce. I just want to take the lil’ guy everywhere. Maybe one day we will have a cat version of Play Wash Pint where you can bring your cat and enjoy a cold beverage.
