Ahh, the smell of fresh paint. We’re excited to share some updates to our newsletter design. We hope these changes will help us deliver an even better reader experience — but as with most remodels, we may experience a few hiccups along the way. If your email doesn’t look quite right or if you have feedback on ways we can continue to improve, please drop us a line. Bonus points for including the type of device and software/platform you’re reading our newsletter on.
We’ll take ours with a side of entertainment

“I hope they play ‘HOT TO GO!’” ... “This is a sit-down restaurant.” Downtown Chattanooga’s latest restaurant, The Playlist, is bringing back the dinner + a show model.
Located on Market Street, where the former Leaping Leprechaun operated, this eatery not only took over the space, but it’s trading in the Irish themes for Italian ones. Folks can expect dishes inspired by Italian cuisine, served by staff that doubles as performers.
We’ve got our eyes on the beef tortellini.

During your meal, your food will be paired with the latest hits, and delivered right to your table by your servers as they lip sync and dance.
Tickets not only get you in, but includes non-alcoholic beverages, garlic knots, a tossed garden salad + your entree (cocktails and spirits will be available for additional purchase). Diners can purchase their dinner and show times online, starting at $45.
This spot is also perfect for a family outing. Before bringing the kiddos, we’re highlighting some of the restaurant’s family policies:
Only children six and up (out of precaution for performance equipment)
Strobe lights + haze machines are used — be mindful of sensitivities to light and air quality
Songs used will be from the Top 40 charts — songs with adult themes or explicit language may be used
This dining experience is one-of-its-kind in Chattanooga.

Chef challenge: Sweet + savory fall flavors
We think you’ll fall in love with these menu items. | Photo by NOOGAtoday
Apple, pumpkin, pecan — these are a few of our favorite fall flavors. To mark the mid-way point of October, we’re rounding up eight local spots to try their takes on fall treats, both sweet and savory.
Sweet
Niedlov’s Cafe & Bakery | This Southside spot offers daily seasonal baked goods, like the apple danish that City Editor Haley had this week. Be on the lookout for pumpkin cookies + soft pretzels.
Pizza Bros | Stop by this pizza joint’s NorthShore, Southside, or East Ridge location to get the apple streusel bread drizzled with icing.
Savory
Alleia | Italian cuisine, but make it fall-themed. Order the special on the menu — butternut ravioli with butternut squash and ricotta, paired with a brown butter sauce with crab.
River Drifters | This eatery on Suck Creek Road has a cranberry pecan chicken salad on its menu — perfect for when we transition from fall to winter.
These best-selling flameless floating candles. Transform your living room or entryway with a touch of October magic, thanks to these candles that appear to be floating in midair.
I love a good fall treat, even just the smells of fall bring me joy. I guess it’s time to start making simmer pots again — let me know if you have a good recipe.
