Back in December, we shared the news that Chattanooga submitted its application to become the first National Park City in the country.
Over 5,500 people signed the charter to back the movement — and there’s still time to sign and share with your friends if you haven’t already.
So, what’s the latest? Chattanooga has received reviews on the submitted application portfolio, and while the majority of the review was positive, some areas need adjustment + an action plan will be shared with the National Park City Foundation team.
Speaking of this team, they are set to visit Chattanooga Sunday, March 9 through Wednesday, March 12, to tour the locations showcased in Chattanooga’s journey book.
Pending approval, Chattanooga could receive National Park City status this spring. In celebration, the team is aiming to host 100 events, programs, and opportunities for Earth Week, which takes place Saturday, April 19 through Saturday, April 26.
Folks can submit an event to the online calendar to join in on the celebrations.
