Naked River Brewing Co. announced it will close on Sunday, July 20. The brewery opened in 2018 and its staff expressed gratitude for the community they’ve built. Before closing, the team will throw a final party on Saturday, July 19, with the goal of drinking “every last drop of beer.”
History
The Chattanooga Choo Choo is saying goodbye to its wooden canopies, citing safety concerns after a recent inspection. The sheds were built in 1909 and remained historically significant, though they hadn’t sheltered waiting passengers in 50+ years. Some elements like lanterns or bolts may be saved for preservation or repurposing. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Transit
AAA is reactivating its Tow to Go program for Independence Day weekend in Tennessee + Georgia to combat impaired driving. The free, confidential service will get drivers and their cars home safely, regardless of membership status. AAA encourages advanced transportation plans, but offers the service as a “last resort.” (The Pulse)
