News Notes

Mansion Monday

A billiards room straight out of “Clue,” a dining room with space for you and 11 of your closest friends, and the claw-foot tub of our dreams — all nestled within this cozy 7,720-sqft Hamilton County residence. If that’s not intriguing enough, how does an in-home wine cellar and private pool sound?

Pets

Our tails are wagging — it’s officially August, which is National Dog Month. The best way to celebrate is by spending some quality time with your four-legged friends, and we recommend getting out for a fetching visit to a local dog park.

Try This

Beyoncé ended her Cowboy Carter tour with a nostalgic surprise, reuniting Destiny’s Child to sing a medley of their greatest hits. While we couldn’t be there in Las Vegas when it happened, you’ll find us performing the encore at Sing It or Wing It. (Variety)

Active

20%. That’s how many adults play team sports in the US — up from 11% in 2020. That means more potential pickleball partners if you want to play doubles. (Axios)
Older generations are getting confused by the “Gen Z stare” — a blank and expressionless glance that usually conveys boredom, judgement, or indifference. It’s often done by younger people in public; if you haven’t seen it yet, be on the lookout next time you’re waiting at a local coffee shop. (The Guardian)

Post of the Day

ICYMI, you don’t need to take your shoes off anymore when heading through TSA at Chattanooga Airport, or any airport, for that matter. And while Birkenstocks used to be the security go-to, (hello, slip on, slip off), you may want to consider something a little more metal detector-friendly.

Footwear aside, what else should you know about traveling through Chattanooga Airport? We’ve got everything from airport navigation to parking, nonstop flights, and dining in our guide.

What to know

  • TSA | According to the Chattanooga Airport’s website, it takes ~10 minutes to get through during off-peak hours and ~20 minutes during peak hours (5-8 a.m., Monday-Friday).
  • Map it out | If you’re like us and need to completely visualize a place before you step foot inside, these maps of the entire airport will be your saving grace.
  • Food and drink | Grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Tailwind Concessions after clearing the security checkpoint or snag some extra jet fuel at CoPilot Coffee — we heard the peanut butter cup latte shouldn’t be overlooked.

The Buy

The organization hack you need for calm, clarity, and less clutter:

🥪 Simplify your sandwich + snack bag drawer with SpaceAid’s bamboo bag storage organizer.
☕ Make your coffee station extra cute with a coffee organizer complete with a slide-out drawer for coffee pods.
🧳 Don’t overlook compression packing cubes for your next trip — you’ll fit twice as much and keep luggage organized.
🧹 This best-selling magnetic chore chart looks cute on the fridge and helps the family stay on task.
👛 Slip a purse organizer into your tote bag for instant relief from a jumble of lipstick, gum, and snacks (no judgement).
