The countdown is on to the South’s largest extreme sports festival happening right here in the Scenic City.
The Chattanooga River Games will take over Ross’s Landing next Friday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 17. Between the jaw-dropping competitions and live music, it would be tough to get bored during this free, family-friendly festival.
The competitions include high diving from a 60-ft tower, the Red Bull Creepers under the Market Street Bridge, wake surfing, highlining, and more. There will also be an interactive outdoor playground for families to enjoy, featuring skate ramps, a bouldering wall, and multiple slackline setups. Each night of the festival will wrap up with a live electronic music performance.

Drink
A Chattanooga burger with Kentucky bourbon. That’s what could be for dinner tonight, if you pay a visit to Main Street Meats. Bardstown Bourbon Company is doing a bar takeover at the restaurant, with National Brand Ambassador Jaz’min Weaver whipping up cocktails and interacting with guests.
Announcement

Traffic
Drivers, take note: Operation Move In at UTC runs Wednesday, Aug. 13 through Thursday, Aug. 14, bringing road closures and parking restrictions to safely welcome students to campus. Expect delays around 8th, Vine, O’Neal, and 5th Streets. Closures begin Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. and continue through Thursday afternoon.
Environment
Chattanooga’s Hamm Road Equalization Station is getting some well-deserved praise — it has helped keep nearly 850 million gallons of wastewater out of the Tennessee River. With three large storage tanks, the station can hold up to 30 million gallons of wastewater, helping prevent overflow during storms. (Chattanoogan)
