Hamilton County’s Christmas tree lighting is now set for Monday, Dec. 1 at 4:30 p.m. on the courthouse lawn (625 Georgia Ave.) due to the threat of severe weather today. Grab dinner from food trucks, visit with Santa, and stick around for the tree lighting after sunset.
Traffic
Some good news for those hitting the road this Thanksgiving. TDOT is pausing all construction-related lane closures to help traffic flow more freely on Tennessee interstates and highways. All lanes will be open starting at 12 p.m. tomorrow through Monday, Dec. 1.
Seasonal
As the eternal starchy advice of Samwise Gamgee goes, “boil ‘em, mash ‘em, stick ‘em in a stew.” But if you’re looking for more from your potatoes this Thanksgiving, the New York Times has some delicious ideas. However you choose to cook them, Chattanooga’s farmers markets are the place to get them.
