Chattanooga is the best — and the rest of the country is starting to notice. In 2025, national and regional publications praised our city for its outdoor adventure, culture, and food. Here’s some of the recognition Chattanooga earned:
National Park City Foundation | First National Park City in North America
“Chattanooga has been transformed over the past decades, from one of the most polluted cities in the United States in the 1970s to an unrivalled outdoor destination and biodiversity hotspot.”
U.S. News | Best Underrated Travel Destinations in the U.S. | No. 4
“Chattanooga has truly earned its nickname as the ‘Scenic City’...travelers of all types could spend days enjoying Chattanooga’s diverse array of attractions.”
Southern Living |The South’s Best Cities of 2025 | No. 8
“A paradise for lovers of the outdoors, Scenic City is made for hikers, bikers, and kayakers. But even if you’re not the active type, Chattanooga’s aquarium and art museum, growing food scene, and gorgeous riverfront will win you over.”
The Chattanooga Airport just added a nonstop flight to Newark, NJ, with United Airlines flying the route five days a week. That brings the total to 12 nonstop flights from CHA, with two more on the way next month: Fort Lauderdale (Allegiant Air) and Miami (American Airlines). (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Weather
Rain, rain, go away. That’s what many of us will be thinking over the next two days. With storms and up to four inches of rain in the forecast between today and tomorrow, it’s a good time to check out these indoor activities in Chattanooga. (News Channel 9)
Plan Ahead
What do a baseball game and a wedding have in common? They’ll both be able to happen at Erlanger Park. The Chattanooga Lookouts recently shared a hospitality guide highlighting the stadium’s best spots for group outings and events. So get planning — the stadium opens Tuesday, April 14.
Community
Chattanooga’s annual MLK Day of Service returns Monday, Jan. 19, with volunteers spreading out across the city for community projects from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Think: beautifying, organizing, and planting trees. Volunteers can sign up online. (The Pulse)
