News Notes

Weather

We can’t believe we’re saying this, but snow may return tonight. Local meteorologists say rain could turn into snow flurries this afternoon and continue overnight into tomorrow morning. With very cold temps expected, any accumulation could make roads dangerous. (Local 3 News)

Plan Ahead

Galentine’s Disco will roll into Collegedale on Friday, Feb. 13. The free, “girls-only” event (ages 14+) will feature a pop-up roller skating rink, karaoke, games, sweet treats, and more. The party runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Founders Hall at the Collegedale Commons. (The Pulse)

Try This

You’ve got one more month to visit the Houston Museum of Decorative Arts’ pop-up at 412 East 2nd St. The temporary location will close Sunday, March 1 as the main museum prepares to reopen after renovations. The pop-up is open Tuesday through Saturday, 12 p.m.-4 p.m.

Fun Fact

A license plate is something you have to have on your vehicle — but did you know it can also support the arts? Specialty license plates like this one cost $35 a year and fund 80% of arts grants in Tennessee. Wanna switch? Just take your current plate to the county clerk.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Sarah

Remember when I told you about Banana Puddin’ Creme Pies? Well, I recently spotted them at the grocery store and naturally, I couldn’t resist the Chattanooga-made treat. My official review? They’re delicious if you like sweet banana-flavored stuff. I wouldn’t bet on them to dethrone the Little Debbie king (Oatmeal Creme Pies), but they’re definitely worth a try.
Clear plastic package containing a "Little Debbie Banana Puddin' Creme Pies" snack on a white textured surface. Text reads "Naturally and Artificially Flavored."

They may be small, but they pack a sweet punch.
