Mansion Monday
Greek life ➔ new life
If you lose the Greek letters, could you see yourself living here? | Photo by Creative Revolver
This week’s Mansion Monday caught the attention of Zillow Gone Wild, and it’s easy to see why. This dwelling happens to be… a former fraternity house.
Located just blocks from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the Fortwood Historic District, the Colonial Revival mansion has nine bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and plenty of off-street parking — a luxury in that area.
The selling point for us: you could live near all the action downtown, have plenty of room to host family and friends, and most importantly, you’d always have a conversation starter at the ready. After all, who can say they live in a former frat house?
Between the hardwood floors, wooden staircase, and cool chandelier, it has potential.
No more college mixers or parties for this place — it’s time for the next chapter. The property is being sold as-is. If you’re interested in giving this historic home new life, reach out to listing agent Christa French.
“Do Not Disturb” isn’t just a phone setting — it’s a new 21+ cocktail bar coming this fall to 2602 E. Main St., the same address as Sleepyhead Coffee. Owned by Sleepyhead, it’ll serve craft cocktails and small plates, while the coffee shop will remain alcohol-free.

In Friday’s newsletter, we shared a new ice cream shop is coming to Chattanooga, but we didn’t know where. We do now. Jeni’s Ice Creams is heading to St. Elmo, right where Clumpies used to be. We still don’t know when, but the grand opening will include free ice cream. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
