Pothole up close

If you’ve been dodging them, it’s time to report them. It’s officially spring, which means it’s also pothole patching season. If you spot one out on the roads, there are three ways to report it to the city:

  • Call 311, the city’s non-emergency line
  • Use the free CHA 311 app
  • Report it online (click “Street Maintenance,” then “Potholes”)

Be ready to share the location, a description, and a photo of the pothole if you have one. You can also check the map to see where others have been reported.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Sarah Dickson

For some, patching potholes means filling them with asphalt and moving on to the next. For others, it’s a chance to make art.

Enter the Buffalo Pothole Bandit, who recently stopped in Chattanooga and transformed 16 potholes around town (including the one below). You can check them all out using this map.
Mosaic art on asphalt depicts a hot dog with colorful tiles. Above, white tiles read "You're my top dog." A small yellow heart adds charm.

Funnily enough, this one’s on 14th Street near Clumpies. | Photo via Buffalo Pothole Bandit
