Have you been to Studio Ours?
Studio Ours is inside the historic Turnbull Building at 1401 Fort St. | Photo by NOOGAtoday
If you like shopping local, learning new skills, and pairing coffee with a pastry, you’ll want to check out Studio Ours in Southside.
The space includes a makers market and classroom area, and it was the brainchild of Chan Sok, founder of the local screen printing business Chan Design. As a maker herself, she wanted to give artists an affordable place to sell their work and teach.
This is the perfect place to find local gifts for friends, family, and yourself.

🛍️ Makers market
Nearly everything inside the market is made by Chattanooga artists. You’ll find handmade clothing, jewelry, candles, ceramics, and more — plus artist cards that share the stories behind the makers.
🧶 Classes + workshops
Studio Ours also hosts classes and workshops led by local artists. Two events are happening this Saturday, April 18 (you might find one in today’s Events section) and more are regularly added, so it’s worth bookmarking this page to stay in the loop.
Studio Ours is open Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sports
It wasn’t a win, but Opening Night was one for the books at the Chattanooga Lookouts’ new home. The Montgomery Biscuits took the opener 2-1, but Dominic Pitelli made history with Erlanger Park’s first home run. Tickets are still available for the rest of Opening Week.
Opening
Gumbo and po’boys and beignets, oh my. A new restaurant is bringing the flavors of New Orleans to downtown Chattanooga. The Trinity is set to open at 1278 Market St. this spring. While we wait for an opening date, you can get a sneak taste this Sunday, April 19. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Shop
A Northshore staple since 1999 is moving to a new location, but it won’t go far. All Things Groovy is moving across the street, from 24 Frazier Ave. to 201 Frazier Ave., where Art Creations used to be. Keep an eye on its Instagram page for updates.
Civic
An ordinance passed by the Chattanooga City Council will soon allow CARTA to put a parking boot on vehicles that have three or more unpaid parking tickets. If that’s you, you’ll have a four-month amnesty period to pay them off before enforcement begins. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Outdoors
Good news, Tennessee Riverwalk fans. In addition to reopening near Erlanger Park, the stretch by UTC’s football practice field is expected to reopen soon. Boardwalk repairs are nearly complete, with a mid-May return in sight.
Community
Know a Chattanooga woman making things happen in the community? Now’s your chance to shout her out. Nominations for Women of Distinction of Greater Chattanooga are open through Thursday, April 30. The honorees will be celebrated at an awards luncheon in the fall.
Health
Spring is in bloom and so are allergies. Nip them in the bud at Physicians Care Urgent Care — walk-ins are welcome seven days a week at eight locations across Chattanooga. Find a center near you for fast relief.*
