News Notes

Opening

Mr. T’s Pizza & Ice Cream has finally announced the opening date for its new Ooltewah location. Drum roll, please. The grand opening will be Thursday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m., and the first 250 customers will get a free large pizza and a T-shirt.

Family

The parking lot behind Northgate Mall has been transformed into a spring carnival, filled with rides, games, and fair food. It’s open daily through Sunday, April 19; view the hours. Pro tip for thrill seekers: Consider the $30 wristband for unlimited rides.

Environment

One of Hamilton County’s curviest roads needs a little TLC, so this Sunday, April 12, the W Road will close from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. while volunteers clean up litter. Wanna help? The meetup spot is McCoy Farm & Gardens at 8 a.m.

Sports

Who’s going to get the green jacket this year? The 2026 Masters Tournament is underway in Augusta, GA, and if watching the best of the best has you wanting to perfect your swing, here are 20+ golf courses in the Chattanooga area.

Eat

Besides golf, the Masters is also known for its food — especially those iconic $1.50 sandwiches. But you don’t have to drive all the way to Augusta. Shady’s Corner will be serving pimento + egg salad sandwiches for $1.50 all weekend long.

Watch

Preparations are underway as the clock ticks down to Opening Day at Erlanger Park. If you’ve got tickets to the Chattanooga Lookouts’ first home series and want to experience it for the first time in person, don’t watch this video. We couldn’t help ourselves, though.

Question

After we shared our roundup of weekly trivia nights in Chattanooga, NOOGAtoday reader Colleen K. wrote in asking if any local businesses do a true crime trivia night. We’re stumped, so if you know the answer, help Colleen and other true crime fans by replying to this email.
