Love is in the air. Can you feel it? No, I’m not writing a Phil Collins song … I’m actually talking about February in Chattanooga. 💘

We’ve been hard at work putting together the monthly #PlanAhead guide and there are just too many great events happening in Chattanooga in February that we’re excited about.

Of course, Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14 *hint, hint*) is the epicenter of the month, but there’s also a Harry Potter tattoo convention (not kidding), the city’s biggest multi-fandom gathering + a visit from one of the funniest (and most controversial) musicals. February is also Black History Month and National Library Lover’s Month.

Oh, and it all starts this weekend with a little groundhog and his shadow + a sportsball game called the Super Bowl. Have you heard of it?

Here are 5 #MustDo events for February:

If you want to get a wizard tattoo …

Literary Ink | Feb. 1–3 | Chattanooga Convention Center | 1150 Carter St. | $15-$75 | The second annual Literary Ink is a tattoo convention where Tattoo Wizards from all over the globe will be coming to the city to offer tattoos. Expect cosplay contests, magicians + other Harry Potter-themed events. Click here for a full list of artists. 🧙

If you want to celebrate Valentine’s Day ironically …

Valentine’s Prom | Thu., Feb. 14 | 7 p.m. | Wanderlinger Brewing | 1208 King St. | $15 per person, $25 couple | Sensational band “Road To Nightfall” presents Chattanooga’s preeminent Valentine’s Day party featuring MizeWell and DJ FrenchKiss. 💔

If you want to laugh + possibly get offended by a Broadway musical ...

The Book of Mormon | Feb. 19–24 | 7:30 p.m. | Tivoli Theatre | $42 and up | The New York Times called it “the best musical of the century.” Not for the kids. 😂

If you want to learn something new …

Salsa On The Southside - Back To Songbirds! | Fri., Feb. 22 | 8:30 p.m. – midnight | XCeed Events and Songbirds | 35 Station St. | $12-$15 | Learn how to salsa dance with Latin music. Featuring music by DJ Mike Arana + dance lessons by Jesse Ramos. Dress to impress. 💃🏻

If you want to dress up and party with multiple fandoms …

Con Nooga | Feb. 22–24 | Chattanooga Convention Center + Chattanoogan | $40-$60 | Chattanooga’s largest multi-fandom convention offers three days of anime, comics, authors, artists, music, science fiction, cosplay + paranormal. Click here for tickets. 🤓
