Maybe it’s the 70+ degree temps we’ve been having, or maybe I’m just too ambitious, but I’ve been thinking a lot about starting a garden in my backyard this spring. We have plenty of room for a couple of raised beds + tomato vines, but the real hurdle is my complete lack of knowledge.

From tiny, household gardens to large tracts of land filled high with veggies, the Chattanooga area has it all. 🌱 But where is a gardening newbie to start?

When I asked friends + family on social media, I received more than 80 comments (and growing). “Start with herbs.” “Maybe a few peppers.” – Those were the typical responses to my query.

It’s clear there are a lot of questions you have to consider before beginning a gardening adventure. Where do you buy seeds? In what season do you plant vs. harvest? So, I’m asking for your advice.

What are the best local gardening resources? 👨‍🌾
