Local nonprofit WaterWays is searching for some community fun to celebrate World Water Day on Friday, March 22 with a Watershed Scavenger Hunt.

It’s simple — you search for hidden painted rocks + win prizes for your efforts. Think: WaterWays swag, Gear Closet gift cards, tickets to the Tennessee Aquarium, and more related to Chattanooga’s outdoor scene and streams.

Here’s how to participate:

  • Look for clues on WaterWays’ Instagram page — general locations will be announced on Friday, March 22 + hints will be posted via stories throughout the week.
  • Explore a watershed to find the painted rock + the number on the back — let WaterWays know you found the rock by calling, emailing, or sending a DM.
  • Return the rock to the Gear Closest (located at 305 Signal Mountain Rd.) by Wednesday, April 3 at 5 p.m.
  • Want an extra chance at prizes? Share your findings on Instagram + tag @mywaterways.
