Welcome to a new week, Chattanooga. This past weekend saw the opening Nightfall series, the Chattanooga Football Club match at Finley + a family-friendly festival, called the Red Bank Jubilee and MoonPie Festival.

But now we focus on the week ahead. It’s been a hot month so far and it’s about to get even hotter 🔥 with plenty of events to look forward to. From sultry baseball action to live music, poetry and more, this week has something for everybody.

Friends of the Library book sale | All week | 9 a.m.-6 p.m | Eastgate Mall, 5600 Brainerd Rd. | $2 hardbacks, $1 paperbacks | Proceeds benefit Chattanooga Public Library programs.

Sevendust | Tue., May 6 | 8:30 p.m. | The Signal, 1810 Chestnut St. | $25-$50 | The American alternative band from Atlanta have been performing since 1994.

Chattanooga Lookouts | May 6-11 | 7:15 p.m. | AT&T Field, 201 Power Alley | $6-$12 | The Chattanooga Lookouts are home all week against Tennessee Smokies.

Vision + Verse: Rhyme N Chatt | Thurs., May 9 | 6-7 p.m. | Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View | Free | Poets Marsha Mills, Tangeia Farmer and Rachel Burgess will be sharing their poetic responses to our new lobby installation “All Equations Are Wave Equations” by Alyson Shotz.

Nightfall Concert Series: Harper & Midwest Kind | Fri., May 10 | 7 p.m. | 850 Market St. | Free, RSVP | The Nightfall Concert Series continues with rockers Harper and Midwest Kind. The Aaron Carney Band will open the show.

Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Presents 6th Annual UnCorked Fundraising Event | Sat., May 11 | 6:30 p.m. | Renaissance Park | $75-$125 | This annual fundraiser benefits the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera + includes wine, live music + more.
