Before the new year, we toyed around with the idea of running a soft pretzel and beer cheese superlatives story. Our friends at Georgi’s Pizzeria responded, “Patiently waiting for recommendations! Soft pretzels 🥨 are the bomb when done right.”
Editor Kristen here, and soft pretzels and beer cheese are some of my all-time favorite snacks — aka if it’s on the menu, you can bet I’m going to order it. I’ll gladly try out as many local offerings as I can to determine which Chattanooga spot has the best.
This is where we need the help from you, our knowledgeable readers. What spot in town has your favorite soft pretzel and beer cheese? The pretzels can come in any shape or size(as long as they’re soft) and beer cheese has to be a dipping sauce option(but if you prefer dipping them in something else, let us know).

Local food concept Mac’s Kitchen and Bar announced that it will soon be in residence at Flora de Mel. Mac’s soft opening at the nearby Rossville meadery will take place on March 23. 🍽️

The Chattanooga Lookouts + Bessie Smith Cultural Center announced that Negro League Appreciation Weekend at AT&T Field will take place June 9-10. During the weekend, The Lookouts will wear Chattanooga Choo-Choo jerseys to honor the minor league Negro League team that played at Engel Stadium from 1940-1946. ⚾

The Salvation Army of Chattanooga kicks off its annual Flowers of Hope program today, Feb. 17. The program involves delivering flowers and notes of encouragement to those who need uplifting, with an opportunity for the public to volunteer to help. 💐
On Saturday, Feb. 25, Keep Soddy-Daisy Beautiful will host a cleanup to clear the Little Soddy Creek of hundreds of tires and various forms of litter. The cleanup will begin at 11 a.m., and you can sign up to volunteer online.

We hope you’re hungry. The annual Chattanooga Burger Week will return April 10-16, offering $7 burger deals from local participating restaurants.
The themed week encourages folks to support Chattanooga’s food scene. This year, more restaurants than ever are joining in on the fun — 25at this time, with more to be announced. You can expect deals from spots like Anomaly by Oddstory Brewing Co., Urban Stack, Jack Brown’s, and Basecamp(just to name a few).
