No yolk, folks — Easter is quickly approaching, and you know what that means. It’s time to go egg hunting in Chattanooga.
Ridgedale Egg Hunt | Saturday, April 1 | 10 a.m.-12 p.m. | Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831 Hickory Valley Rd. | Free | Come out for an egg hunt, inflatables, face painting, and snow cones.
Easter EGGstravaganza | Saturday, April 1 | 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 86 US-127, Signal Mountain | Free | This event open to the community will feature an egg hunt at 12:30 p.m., pony rides, inflatables, activities, food, and more.
Annual Westside Easter Egg Hunt | Sunday, April 9 | 3 p.m. | Westside Park, 1195 Grove St. | Free | Local rapper Coogi Doogi hosts this annual egg hunt for kiddos in honor of his late mother.
Easter at Coolidge | Sunday, April 9 | 8 a.m. | Coolidge Park, 150 River St. | Free | This annual event will begin with a 100,000-egg hunt around the park at 9 a.m., with a service to follow.
🥚 For the adults
The Great Adult Egg Hunt & Hoppy Hour | Saturday, April 8 | 1-5 p.m. | Sculpture Fields at Montague Park, 1800 Polk St. | $7-$50 | Local artists have created one-of-a-kind eggs, but adults will hunt the park for eggs containing candy + prizes from local businesses. Bonus: stick around for a Main Street restaurant “hop along” after the hunt.
Vinterest City-Wide Egg Hunt | Now-Saturday, April 8 | Times vary | Locations vary | Free | Local antique store Vinterest hides an egg — containing various prizes — around the city each day and posts clues on its Hixson + Southside Facebook pages.

Developer Robert Lubin of R&R Capital Funding plans to rehabilitate the old Chattanooga Bank Building downtown with the Chattanooga Hotel LLC. The renovations are being funded with a $300,000 state grant. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Environment
The National Park Service will conduct a prescribed fire at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park this week (depending on weather conditions). The fire will be approximately 153 acres north of Viniard-Alexander Road + will be one of five planned fires. (NewsChannel 9)

Chattanooga’s Coast-to-Coast College Fair will return after a three-year hiatus on Tuesday, April 11 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. This event welcomes all high school sophomores and juniors + will provide attendees with resources for their college search.
UTC
UTC is set to participate in the Grand Challenges Scholars Program (GCSP) in the upcoming fall semester. The initiative is a curriculum-integrated, co-curricular, and extracurricular program designed to prepare students to address society’s challenges. (The University of Tennessee Chattanooga)
Cause
Be The Change Youth Initiative will start a new local program addressing the issue of food insecurity for those experiencing homelessness. The initiative will launch on May 10 with a special concert to raise funds for a community fridge. Stay tuned for updates.
The Humane Educational Society has waived adoption fees for all adult dogs now through Sunday, April 2. The organization’s kennels are currently at capacity, with 120+ dogs currently in its care. Learn how to adopt + foster.
Health
Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation recently opened the YMCA North River Clinic at 4138 Hixson Pk. to offer additional outpatient services. The new facility will help expand the hospital’s aquatic therapy program + other physical therapy options.
Community
Fairy exciting news. The Chattanooga Audubon Society will host its Little Owl Fairy House Festival on May 27. Eventgoers can make a fairy house that will be displayed on the Wonderland Trail + vote for their favorite. Register online.
Arts
Light Up Chatt Parade with Playful Evolving Monsters returns this Saturday at Rock the Riverfront. See hundreds of glowing lanterns and the giant Gigantona dancer leading the group from Northshore to the Chattanooga Green at 7:30 p.m. Plus, enjoy food trucks, artist vendors + open play on Los Trompos.*

Want to pay it forward? This year, Ben & Jerry’s will partner with Girls Inc. of Chattanooga for the event where you can donate what you would have paid for your cone to directly benefit the local organization.
Bonus: Girls Inc. will be on location from 12-8 p.m. with resources + information available for the public.
