  • Attention Hamilton County residents, seasonal burning restrictions go into effect today, May 1. During this period, no residential or commercial burning is allowed within Hamilton County. Note: the ban will be in place through Sept. 30.
Arts
  • Signal Centers’ Hart Gallery has a new tactile art exhibit on display. “Seven Art Movements” uses technology to help those who are facing blindness or other visual impairments experience art. The exhibit is free + open to the public now through Saturday, May 20.
Job
  • The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga (ULCG) will partner with Unum to host two workforce development events for the community. Folks can attend a resume and interview skills workshop on Tuesday, May 2 + an in-person hiring event on Tuesday, May 9 at ULCG’s office. (Chattanoogan.com)

  • In case you missed it, tickets are on sale now for the Hike Bike Brew Beer Festival at Lula Lake on Saturday, May 13. Only a few tickets are left for this premier beer festival where brews meet the outdoors, so act fast.

Pop that popcorn and get settled in your car seat — we’re gonna take you to the drive-in right outside of Chattanooga.

The Wilderness Outdoor Movie Theater, located in Trenton, GA (~15 minutes from downtown), has officially opened for its 2023 season on the weekends.

With two screens that each feature two movies, folks can experience a night under the stars from the comfort of their car — or set up a blanket and chairs. The theater shows a wide range of films that accommodate family-friendly + more mature content, so there is a space for everyone.

For only $7 a person (ages three and under are free), you can watch both movies on the screen of your choosing. They also have a concession stand on site with classic snacks + food like burgers. Note: the theater is cash only.

Not sure about you, but I’ll take one ticket, please.
