Last year, we shared news about Chef Erik + Amanda Niel (of Easy Bistro and Main Street Meats) opening their third restaurant concept Little Coyote.
The restaurant is currently slated to open this August in St. Elmo at 3950 Tennessee Ave. — the former location of Mojo Burrito.
The space will include an open and airy indoor space + a large outdoor seating area. With decor that complements the items on the menu, folks can expect to see terracotta tiles, cacti, and plants.

Chef Erik took inspiration + influences from Texas barbecue, Cuban, Caribbean, and Southwestern cuisines when creating the menu. You can expect to enjoy smoked meats, fresh tortillas, homemade picos + accompaniments — all served family-style.
The spot’s bar offerings will include a focus on agave spirits with 100+ varieties of tequilas, sotols, raicillas, and mezcals to choose from. Plus, craft cocktails, draft beers, and more.
Excited? So are we. Make sure to follow Little Coyote’s Instagram for updates closer to opening.

Did you know there are thousands of antique items from the collection of one individual on display at a museum in Chattanooga? We didn’t either.
The Houston Museum of Decorative Arts features the collections of Anna Safley Houston, a woman who moved to Chattanooga in 1904. Anna had an antique business and was known for traveling and collecting items from the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Bonus: The museum recently announced it will host its first-ever artist-in-residence Kris Bespalec who created work inspired by Anna’s collection. An opening reception for Bespalec’s “Acts of Preservation” exhibition will be on Friday, May 19 from 6-8 p.m.
The Chattanooga Zoo can take all of my money at this point. From Sips in the Wild on Saturday, May 20 to the Ice Cream Safari on Saturday, June 17 — these folks know how to have some fun with their events. Plus, the zoo’s residents get to join in on the festivities, which is pretty sweet if you ask me.
