Drink Up Month is right around the corner — beginning this Saturday, July 1 — and we want to make sure you are prepared to celebrate Chattanooga’s beverage industry.

Mocktail Meet + Greet | Monday, July 10 | 8-10 p.m. | Unknown Caller, 715 Cherry St. | Enjoy $2 off mocktails with the NOOGAtoday editors. The folks at Unknown will even change the name of one of the mocktails to a NOOGAtoday-themed name for the night — we just need your help naming it.

Brewery Tour with Chattabrew Tour | Friday, July 14 | 4 p.m. | Meet at Chattanooga Brewing Co., 1804 Chestnut St. | Enjoy a guided walking tour to four Chattanooga breweries. The folks at ChattaBrew Tours have doubled the size of the regular walking tours for 20 of our readers to join us.

Councilwoman Marvene Noel will host a Public Safety meeting on Monday, July 10 at Community Haven (815 N. Hickory St.). The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and cover topics on safety issues, programs, and policies that impact District 8.

The Hamilton County Health Department has released its 2023 Quarter 1 Drug Overdose Surveillance Report. Read the findings + access overdose prevention public resources.

The Chattanooga Zoo is now accepting applicants for its Fall Semester Paid Internships program. College students who want experience in conservation can work in areas of animal care, vet tech, and more. Apply by 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15.
Award
The City of Collegedale recently received the Award of Excellence in Public Works from the Tennessee Municipal League. The award recognizes the department’s efforts in quickly responding to a train derailment that occurred in December that involved three engines and 10 rail cars.

Wavelength Space will have an opening night reception for its latest exhibition “Rituals” on Saturday, July 8 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibit showcases different artists’ takes on the “profound power inherent in cyclical, mythical, natural, material + body-based practices.”

In case you missed it, applications for the Mayor’s Youth Council close on Saturday, July 1. High school juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply for this leadership program that gives them a space to be a voice in local city government. Read the requirements + apply.
