The folks at Nooga Nightlife and Chatt Taste Food Tours have teamed up once again to bring a themed week of fun to the Scenic City. We’ve had burgers, barbecue, and tacos + now it’s time to show some of our local breweries some love.
Chattanooga Brewery Week will kick off Monday, Aug. 21, and run through Sunday, Aug. 27. During the week, patrons will be able to enjoy $4 beers from the 12+ participating local breweries and beer establishments.
Enjoy your choice of any sour beer on draft for $4 at Cherry Street Brewing.

Take the festivities to the next level with a ride-along brewery experience. These will be offered Tuesday-Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. + include three brewery stops, three featured beers, bites at one stop, and transportation between each destination. Tickets are $44, and space is limited. See the schedule.
Want to keep the good vibes going? The Rail & Hops Brewers Festival will take place on Saturday, Aug. 26 at the First Horizon Pavilion. This festival will feature 40+ local, regional, and national craft breweries. Bonus: Stay tuned for an event preview coming up in a future newsletter.

Hamilton County officials will seek $3 million in grant funds from the US Department of Transportation. The funds will go towards studying roads in Hamilton County + Chattanooga to assess solutions for major flooding areas and other hazardous conditions. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)

The Project Inspire Teacher Residency program received a $95,300 grant from the National Center for Teacher Residencies to “recruit and develop Black teachers for Hamilton County Schools.” Funds will be used to lower barriers + connect teachers with mentorship opportunities. Learn more.
Closing
Wildflower Tea Shop & Apothecary (1423 Market St.) took to social media to announce it will be closing by the end of the year. Owner Hillary Libby said in the post, “I know it’s time for the business to evolve — and that means letting go of the Chattanooga shop.”

The Creative Discovery Museum (321 Chestnut St.) will be closed for maintenance Tuesday, Aug. 22-Thursday, Aug. 24. Note: The museum also recently announced it will be closed on Wednesdays for the foreseeable future.

The Carpetbagger’s Comedy Night has found a new residence at The Granfalloon, located at 400 E. Main St, after losing its former spot at what used to be The Bode hotel. The show’s first performance will be tonight at 9 p.m. with a happy hour at 8 p.m. Get tickets.

Join in on Chattanooga’s fastest track event of the year

The Magnum Mile — noted as “Chattanooga’s fastest track event” — will return to the track at the Girls Preparatory School on Saturday, Aug. 26.
The race is part of the annual Cam Run, a day-long running event that honors the legacy of Cameron Bean, which is hosted by Fast Break Athletics + the Chattanooga Track Club.
The event features three main races:
The Magnum Mile Invite | Middle school and high school athletes
The Magnum Mile | Top 25 men and women from the Cam Run 5K
The Magnum Mile Elite | Competitive athletes
New to this year is the Magnum Mile Elite, bringing competitive athletes from across the county to compete in “the fastest mile ever run on Chattanooga soil.” Note: Participation in this event is by invitation only, so filling out the interest form does not guarantee entry.
The races are free + open to the public. Cash and special prizes will be given to the race winners. Sign up to participate in the Cam Run or Magnum Mile online.
