The 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival returns for its “Sweet 16th” year on Friday, Oct. 6 + Sunday, Oct. 7.

Folks can gather together to listen to performances by contemporary + traditional bluegrass musicians free of charge. Ready to sit back and listen to some tunes? Here are the daily schedules:

  • The festival is rain or shine, so plan accordingly
  • No outside food or drink (over a dozen food trucks will be on-site to grab a bite)
  • Bring your own blankets or lawn chairs
  • Wheelchair seating will be available near the stage
  • Leashed pups can join the party

Community
  • The Isaiah 117 House at Chambliss Center for Children is slated to open on Monday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. This will be Hamilton County’s first Isaiah 117 House and will offer children in the area a “welcoming and loving environment while they await placement in a foster home.” (Chattanoogan.com)
Cause
  • Local animal rehabilitation group Camp Wildernest Wildlife Center, Inc. will host its Bidding & Birding Silent Auction now through Monday, Oct. 9 at 11:45 p.m. Various donated items are up for bids (think: vacation deals and art) to help raise funds for the organization’s efforts.   • The Tennessee Aquarium will kickoff its ODDtober with an underwater pumpkin carving demonstration today, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. Two scuba divers will dress up + carve “Nickajack-o-laterns” while swimming with the fish. Bonus: See this event every Saturday in October at 2 p.m.

  • ChaTech recently announced the winners of the 2023 Technology Excellence (TechX) Awards. Twelve local folks and organizations were recognized for “outstanding achievements in technology innovation and expertise.” Meet the recipients.
