Try out these fall food and drink offerings in Chattanooga

Editor Kristen here. Fall is my favorite season of the year, especially spending it in Chattanooga. The cooler weather and the leaves changing merit plenty of excitement on my part, but the food and drinks that hit our local menus this season may be my favorite.
Here are some seasonal offerings to check out next time you stop by these local spots:
Cozy up with a warm beverage on Chattanooga’s cooler fall days.
Uncommon Coffee Bar | Pumpkin latte | If you’re looking for a classic fall flavor, sip on this latte from one of Chattanooga’s newest coffee bars.
Sleepyhead Coffee | Caramel apple butter latte | This is Editor Kristen’s favorite off of the fall menu, but if you’re looking to try something a little more adventurous, we recommend the orange ginger latte.
Evening sips
Chattanooga Brewing Co. | Blackberry Sage Sour | This fall favorite is brewed with pilsner + wheat malts and fresh blackberries and sage.
The Social at Public House | Appalachian Autumn | Noted as “fall in a glass,” this cocktail is made with Botanist gin, spiced pear, Amaro Nonino, Dolin blanc, and oak flavors.
Mac’s Kitchen and Bar | Potato croquettes | Enjoy these croquettes served over a sweet butternut puree + topped with jalapenos, mint yogurt, and herbs.
The Rosecomb | Early Autumn Salad | This salad is made with braised beets, fried brussels, orange, toasted pepitas, turmeric tahini yogurt, and sumac powder.

Clumpies Ice Cream Co. | Fall-flavored ice cream | Choose from an array of fall flavors such as chai spiced donut, coffee cake, maple pecan pie, oatmeal apple butter, pumpkin cheesecake, and spiced cran-apple sorbet.
Milk and Honey | Pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies | Celebrate fall with these cookies that pair perfectly with a pumpkin spice latte.

Boo’Z in the Zoo | Thursday, Oct. 19 | 6-9 p.m. | Chattanooga Zoo, 301 N. Holtzclaw Ave., Chattanooga | $20-$25 | This 21+ only event will feature after hour fun with drinks, trick-or-treat stations, a costume contest, and a ride on the haunted carousel.
Friday, Oct. 20
Noontunes | Friday, Oct. 20 | 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Broad Street (Aquarium Way-High Point Climbing Gym), Chattanooga | Free+ | This week’s theme is “Coffee Break” — shop from local coffee and food vendors + enjoy live music by Resurrection Mary.
Chattanooga’s Department of Neighborhood Services and Development has opened its applications for its Neighborhood Action Grant for neighborhood associations, HOAs, etc. Funds of up to $2,500 will be given to help “enhance the quality of life for Chattanooga residents.”
Outdoors
Applications are open for the Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors Department’s newly developed commission board. A board of 15 residents will help with park maintenance + planning, programming, and identifying improvements needed within the parks system. Apply online.
Traffic
The north side of the South Moore Road + Ringgold Road intersection will be closed for ongoing construction. The closure is scheduled for today, Oct. 17 through the next two weeks. Traffic will be detoured “via Maryland Drive west to Marlboro Avenue and south to Ringgold Road.” (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Community
The Chattanooga Market will host local STEM organizations for its Smart is Cool market on Sunday, Oct. 22 at the First Horizon Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Folks will get a chance to see hands-on chemistry experiments, enjoy interactive activities, and meet members of NASA.
Biz
Applications are now open for The Chattery’s Black History Month Market, which is slated for Feb. 2. This night market will showcase Black businesses in the area. Note: Applications close on Tuesday, Oct. 31 + vendors will be notified by the week of Monday, Nov. 13.
Festival
Badum tssssh.The Comedy Catch will host the Lookout Comedy Festival from Thursday, Oct. 18 through Saturday, Oct. 21. You can watch 13 shows at various locations, including two secret shows that have yet to be announced. See headliners + get tickets.
Arts
The Chattanooga Comic Con will return on Saturday, Oct. 21 + Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Attendees will get to meet 25+ special celebrity and creator guests, enjoy a game hall, and shop from vendors.
State
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Division of Forestry has announced mandatory debris pile burn permits for areas without local restrictions. The required permits will be in effect from now through May 15. See safety tips, regulations + apply for a permit.

Main St. Farmer’s Market’s annual Falltoberbest returns on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. Come out for ~40 vendors, a dog costume contest, a farmer photo op, free “pumpCAN” decorating, and live bluegrass music. Bonus: It’s overalls themed, so make sure to wear your favorite pair.
