Editor Kristen here. Fall is my favorite season of the year, especially spending it in Chattanooga. The cooler weather and the leaves changing merit plenty of excitement on my part, but the food and drinks that hit our local menus this season may be my favorite.

Here are some seasonal offerings to check out next time you stop by these local spots:

The Daily Ration's caramel pumpkin latte.

Cozy up with a warm beverage on Chattanooga’s cooler fall days.

Morning brews

Uncommon Coffee Bar | Pumpkin latte | If you’re looking for a classic fall flavor, sip on this latte from one of Chattanooga’s newest coffee bars.

Sleepyhead Coffee | Caramel apple butter latte | This is Editor Kristen’s favorite off of the fall menu, but if you’re looking to try something a little more adventurous, we recommend the orange ginger latte.

Evening sips

Chattanooga Brewing Co. | Blackberry Sage Sour | This fall favorite is brewed with pilsner + wheat malts and fresh blackberries and sage.

The Social at Public House | Appalachian Autumn | Noted as “fall in a glass,” this cocktail is made with Botanist gin, spiced pear, Amaro Nonino, Dolin blanc, and oak flavors.

We’re here for a crispy croquette any day.

Thrifting your Halloween costume locally, part two

NOOGAtoday | Halloween thrift
Check out Editor Haley and Kristen’s Northside Neighborhood finds. | Photo by NOOGAtoday
Last year, we took to Northside Neighborhood House (NNH) to thrift our costumes, and this year we’re back again with some more ideas.

Why thrift your costume? It’s a sustainable way to shop, you can find pieces to make your costume unique, it’s often cheaper, and you’re able to support local (which we’re big fans of).

Here are some of the costumes we pieced together from NNH:

Little Red Riding Hood
  • We found: Red dress, basket + stuffed wolf
  • You add: Cape + accessories
Donna Sheridan (from “Mamma Mia!”)
  • We found: Overalls + flowy shirt
  • You add: Your fellow members of Donna and the Dynamos + microphones
Barbie
  • We found: Pink dress, sunglasses + handbag
  • You add: More pink accessories + Ken
Oppenheimer
  • We found: Black suit jacket, button-up shirt + tie
  • You add: Hat + cigar
Bonus: Combine the last two costumes with a friend to dress up as “Barbenheimer.”
