🗑️ We’re talking trash
NOOGAtoday | bulk trash pickup
Residents within these areas can request bulk trash pickup. | Map provided by the City of Chattanooga
Calling all Chattanooga residents. The Chattanooga Department of Public Works will soon transition bulk trash collection to a service request system.

Previously, residents would place their bulk trash on the curb in accordance with a rotating zoned schedule. Starting on Monday, April 1, folks will utilize the city’s 311 services to schedule their pickup.

Under the changes, residents can call (423-643-6311), email, or use the 311 app to request a time for bulk item pickups. Note: The goal is for trash to be picked up within eight business days of the submitted request, compared to the sometimes weeks it could take previously.

“Forcing residents to rely on an online schedule to have their trash picked up was a major inconvenience for them — and we received complaints that long periods without service was not good for neighborhoods,” said Ross Pitcairn, administrator for the Department of Public Works. “These adjustments will improve services in every neighborhood in Chattanooga and make for a much more efficient process for our employees.”
