• The East Ridge City Council recently approved plans for a multi-purpose event center that will be located behind City Hall. The 12,000-sqft facility will feature an event space, two multi-purpose rooms, a catering kitchen, an outdoor entertainment space + indoor public restrooms.

• CARTA’s spring + summer bus schedule will go into effect on Sunday, May 5. Note: New printed bus schedules will be available on all fixed bus routes and CARTA GO vehicles. See the schedule changes.

• The Hamilton County Mayor’s Office has opened applications for its Summer Youth Employment Program for 16-24 year olds. Participants will work part-time (no nights or weekends) with members of the Hamilton County Government. Learn more + apply by Friday, May 3.

• The Chattanooga Symphony & Orchestra is teaming up with the United Sound Composer Project to bring music from diverse composers to local students. • The votes are in. Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint’s Crab Rangoon Burger was voted the best burger from Chattanooga Burger Week — for the second year in a row. This dish was made with Wagyu beef, house-made crab rangoon filling, crispy wonton strips + sweet chili sauce.

• The Tennessee Whiskey Trail’s annual Whiskey Week returns Friday, May 3 through Saturday, May 11 — paying homage to spirits, cuisine, and culture in East Tennessee. Several Chattanooga restaurants and bars will join in on the festivities. See the participants + events.
