Yurt gonna want to start making plans to visit Chester Frost Park soon after we tell you about the newest additions to this lakeside property.
Located in nearby Hixson + surrounded by Chickamauga Lake, this park is known for its “beach” and campgrounds. Now, folks can enjoy a night’s stay in one of four waterfront yurts, offering a glamping experience.
These portable, circular structures can be found at campsites 99, 100, 227, and 228 featuring:
Decks furnished with chairs to enjoy the views (with ramp + stair access)
Mini fridges
Sleeping accommodations fit for single travelers or multiple guests
Cozy indoor seating with a couch + table
Access to the park’s laundry + shower facilities
Access to activities like hiking, kayaking, fishing + year-round programming
The yurts are open now for booking (with the first day of availability on Friday, Aug. 30), starting at $75 a night. Two of the sites are also fit for a hybrid-style camping adventure with the option to park your RV (at no additional cost).
Bonus: Read up on the history of yurts before trying out the park’s version.
Hamilton County Parks & Recreation also debuted the George Franklin Wright Memorial Fishing Pier. The pier is dedicated to Soddy-Daisy native George Wright, who built a legacy through his construction company since 1985. Wright passed away earlier this year and was known for his love of fishing + camping at Chester Frost Park.
You can visit the pier seven days a week, from sunrise to sunset. To get a feel for the grounds, check out the online map.
