“He did so much for Soddy-Daisy, and I can’t think of a better way to honor his legacy and the impact he made on so many. I’m grateful to everyone who made this happen.” — Soddy-Daisy Commissioner Gene-O Shipley.

Hamilton County Parks & Recreation also debuted the George Franklin Wright Memorial Fishing Pier. The pier is dedicated to Soddy-Daisy native George Wright, who built a legacy through his construction company since 1985. Wright passed away earlier this year and was known for his love of fishing + camping at Chester Frost Park.

You can visit the pier seven days a week, from sunrise to sunset. To get a feel for the grounds, check out the online map.
