Pride, but make it autumnal.
Every fall, Chattanoogans break out their Pride festivities. Why not in June? Because October is LGBT History Month — and offers much cooler weather than the summer.

Pick up some plants for your outdoor garden. | Photo provided by Crabtree Farms
Botany good plants lately? Make sure to stop by Crabtree Farms’ Fall Plant Sale and Festival on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Fill your fall gardens with native, ornamental, and edible plants. Those without green thumbs can enjoy live music, 30+ local vendors, hay rides, and delicious goodies like tapas, sangria, and kombucha. Plus, this year Chattanooga Food Center will host a live food demo with Shadi Kermanian from 12 to 2 p.m.
Note: Expect some crowds for this event and plants tend to sell out quickly. You can plan for your shopping trip by checking out the plant sale guide prior to arriving.
Pro tip: The farm’s guide breaks down what kind of lighting and moisture the plants need, along with other key information that can help you decide which plants would work best for your space.
I know the lyrics to Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” hit a little differently for Chattanoogans. (And if you were lucky enough to get tickets for her Tuesday, Oct. 1 show in Franklin, I kind of hate you.)
Alas, Chappell Roan is not from Tennessee. Apparently, “I’m having wicked dreams of leaving Springfield, MO” just didn’t rhyme as well.
