Flat Top Mountain Farm, Soddy-Daisy | Head to this nearby farm to shop for your seasonal favorites, from orange to white pumpkins. Pro tip: Go during the festival weekend days + your ticket gets you a small pumpkin.

Applicants who move on to the semifinal round will be announced on Friday, Feb. 7.
There will be five winners from each region. First place will receive $30,000, second will receive $15,000, and three third-place winners will each receive $10,000.
The three regions for next year’s competition are Northwest Georgia, Ocoee, and Chattanooga.

The City of Chattanooga will host the swearing-in ceremony for Chief of Police John Chambers on Friday, Oct. 11 at Walker Theatre. Starting at 1 p.m., folks will be able to hear from Chambers on his vision for the police department’s future. (Chattanoogan.com)

The public is invited to attend a town hall meeting with the Hamilton County Board of Education on Monday, Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m. to hear discussion around the proposed resolution concerning the state’s threats of mass violence law. The non-voting session will take place in the District Central Office Board Room.
Sports
The NCAA has announced the 240 sites that will host predetermined championships for Divisions I, II, and III over the next few years. Frost Stadium at Warner Park will be the location of the Division II softball finals in the 2027 + 2028 seasons.
Edu
Speaking of sports news — ChattState has been named a Unified Champion School by the Special Olympics. The first community college in Tennessee to get this distinction, the college uses sports as a way to promote inclusion across the campus.
